The use of a capsular tension ring was more common in ISBCS, while other measures taken during surgery were more common in delayed sequential bilateral cataract surgery (DSBCS). The study concluded that ISBCS is becoming more prevalent, with less risk factors but still experiencing ocular comorbidities and surgical complications.

Omalizumab and newer therapies such as dupilumab and remibrutinib expand options for refractory disease, while future care may be guided by biomarkers and disease endotypes.
