Factors associated with receipt of pulmonary metastasectomy in patients with lung-limited metastatic colorectal cancer

This study analyzed stage IV colorectal cancer patients with lung-limited metastases, finding that those undergoing pulmonary metastasectomy (PM) had better overall survival. Factors associated with PM included younger age, private insurance, higher education, travel distance over 25 miles, and treatment at high-volume hospitals. Patients not receiving PM had worse survival rates, highlighting the need for equitable access to this treatment.
