
A recent study published in the journal Cell Metabolism suggests that participating in intermittent fasting, specifically time-restricted eating, could lead to a reduced risk of cognitive deterioration and Alzheimer's disease. The study, conducted on mice, adjusted the feeding schedule so that they only ate within six-hour windows each day. The fasting mice showed improvements in memory, less hyperactivity in the evenings, fewer sleep disruptions, and reduced buildup of amyloid proteins in the brain, a hallmark of Alzheimer's disease. The researchers hope that these findings will lead to human trials, emphasizing the potential benefits of accessible interventions like time-restricted eating.
