The US FDA has approved AstraZeneca’s Farxiga (dapagliflozin) to enhance glycaemic control in paediatric patients aged 10 years and older with type-2 diabetes (T2D). This decision follows the successful T2NOW phase III trial. Farxiga, previously approved for adults with T2D, represents a significant advancement for younger patients facing high unmet needs. The trial demonstrated substantial improvements in glycaemic control, reinforcing AstraZeneca’s commitment to addressing cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic diseases across various age groups.
