The present study investigated the feasibility of using forearm support to reduce work-related pain in Endoscopic Sinus and Skull Base surgeons. The initial results were promising, showing a reduction in pain, fatigue, and improved efficacy. The main objective was to develop and evaluate a novel exoskeleton system that assists surgeons ergonomically during endoscopic sinus and skull base surgeries. The study conducted five experiments using different scenarios, including silicone models, cadavers, and real surgeries. The results showed that the volunteers perceived more comfort and less fatigue and pain when using the armrest compared to not using it. The device was found to be intuitive, comfortable, and improved accuracy and stability with endoscope use.
