This review aimed to summarize the research on the feasibility of time-restricted eating (TRE) in individuals with overweight, obesity, prediabetes, or type 2 diabetes. The research found 28 relevant studies. Overall, recruitment was easy and retention rates were high. Adherence to the designated eating window varied, with higher adherence for shorter duration studies. Some individuals found following TRE challenging, and factors such as the availability of calorie-free beverages outside the eating window and the provision of support influenced adherence. No serious adverse events were reported. In conclusion, TRE is feasible, acceptable, and safe for individuals with the mentioned conditions, but it should be accompanied by support and flexibility for individual adjustments.
