Amid the COVID‐19 pandemic, concerns arose about the competence of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS) trainees due to reduced surgical volumes. Researchers analyzed case logs of graduating FPMRS fellows in urology and obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) to assess any impact. Results show comparable surgical case volumes between pre-COVID and pandemic-affected years, with no significant differences in total procedures or index case categories for urology and OBGYN fellows. Only a decrease in gastrointestinal procedures and mesh augmentation cases for urology fellows in the pandemic-affected year was observed. Overall, FPMRS trainee case volumes remained largely unaffected despite the pandemic's disruptions.

A retrospective study of 161 adults found that plasma rich in growth factors (PRGF) improved early soft tissue healing after endodontic surgery when used alone. In nine patients with severe, treatment-refractory MMP, tocilizumab reduced mean disease activity scores from 14.8 to 4.2. At final evaluation, 78% achieved partial remission and 11% complete remission.
