A study suggests that femoral inherent torsion (FIT) is a more accurate measure than femoral anteversion angle (FAA) for evaluating femoral torsion in patellar dislocation surgery. Findings show that posterior femoral condylar deformity may falsely elevate FAA, affecting surgical decisions. Simultaneous assessment of FIT and FAA can improve precision in derotational femoral osteotomy.
