Fetal Medicine Foundation charts for fetal growth in twins

A recent study on 4,391 twin pregnancies across Europe highlighted differences in fetal weight compared to singletons. While twins showed smaller size initially, they caught up by 24 weeks before experiencing reduced growth. In monochorionic diamniotic (MCDA) twins, the estimated fetal weight (EFW) was notably lower than in singleton pregnancies. The findings emphasize the need for specialized monitoring and care for twin pregnancies, recognizing the unique growth trajectories. This research sheds light on crucial distinctions in fetal development, influencing prenatal care strategies.
