Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major concern for type 1 diabetes (T1D) patients, leading to increased cardiovascular risks and decreased quality of life. This review explores the potential role of finerenone, a non-steroidal mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist, in treating CKD in T1D patients. While finerenone is approved for type 2 diabetes (T2D) with CKD, its benefits for T1D patients remain under investigation.
