The pooled analysis from FIDELIO-DKD and FIGARO-DKD, hypokalaemia was common among patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and type 2 diabetes (T2D), occurring in 41.1% of cases. Hypokalaemia was associated with increased cardiovascular risks. Finerenone significantly reduced hypokalaemia incidence (HR 0.63 for potassium < 4.0 mmol/L) and decreased the risk of cardiovascular and arrhythmia outcomes, regardless of baseline potassium levels.
