A recent meta-analysis assessed the impact of flaxseed supplementation on weight loss, lipid profiles, inflammation markers (hs-CRP), and glucose levels in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). The study analyzed six randomized controlled trials and found no significant changes in lipid factors but revealed a noteworthy decrease in triglyceride levels. Flaxseed intake didn't influence weight or BMI, but it positively affected fasting blood glucose and hs-CRP levels. The study suggests flaxseed supplementation may benefit CAD patients in specific cardiovascular aspects.
