A new ophthalmic viscosurgical device (OVD) utilizing fluorescein-conjugated hyaluronic acid was developed and evaluated for intraoperative visualization. The conjHA OVD demonstrated robust fluorescence under cobalt blue light without affecting viscosity. It effectively delineated the anterior chamber during ex vivo studies without staining intraocular lenses (IOLs). This innovation shows promise for improving surgical precision and reducing post-operative complications related to OVD retention.
