A food-provisioning intervention improved diet quality in children with obesity. Thirty-three children received either usual care or a high-fiber, low-dairy diet for 4 weeks. The intervention increased whole grain and fiber intake, decreased dairy, and shifted the diet toward plant-based foods. Genomic data supported these dietary changes, though no significant effects on weight, microbiome, or food insecurity were observed.
