The utility of a theoretical formulaic language model for individuals with post-stroke aphasia. Analyzing speech samples from 144 participants, differences in formulaic language between fluent and nonfluent aphasias were identified. Psycholinguistic characteristics like frequency, syntactic completeness, and apraxia presence accurately predicted fluency (88.4% fluent, 70.3% nonfluent). The study highlights the potential for formulaic language analysis in improving diagnosis and treatment.
