This study finds that school performance generally improves with increasing gestational age up to 40 weeks, regardless of socio-demographic factors. However, children born prematurely, especially those from socially or economically disadvantaged backgrounds, are at a higher risk of lower school performance. Maternal education, age, ethnicity, birth order, and socioeconomic status also influence school performance.
