Glial Reactivity Linked to CTE Lesions and Inflammation

The study analyzed 32 markers of neurodegeneration in CTE using multiplex immunohistochemistry, revealing significant perivascular glial reactivity in p-tau lesion areas. Astrocyte activation, particularly with NQO1 and L-ferritin expression, suggests a response to iron-induced oxidative stress. These findings highlight perivascular inflammation as a key feature of CTE pathology, potentially contributing to neurodegeneration following repetitive brain injuries.
