From 1990 to 2021, the global burden of ischemic heart disease (IHD) due to high BMI and low physical activity (PA) nearly doubled, with deaths and DALYs increasing. The average annual percent change (AAPC) in age-standardized DALYs was −0.26% and −1.03% for deaths. The burden shifted from high SDI regions to middle/low SDI regions. Projections show increasing IHD burden from high BMI and decreasing from low PA.
