Global survey of endodontic practice and adoption of newer technologies

A recent web-based survey of 543 endodontists and endodontic post-graduate students across Australia, Britain, Canada, Italy, New Zealand, and the USA sheds light on current trends in endodontic practices worldwide. Findings indicate a high adoption rate of advanced technologies, including the dental operating microscope (91.3%), electronic apex locators (93.0%), and cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT, 91.2%). The survey also revealed geographic variations, with the Americas (AM) and Europe/Middle East (EM) favoring single-visit treatments and higher sodium hypochlorite concentrations compared to the Asia-Pacific (AP). Differences in continuing education attendance and treatment philosophies were also observed among regions. This study highlights the need for ongoing monitoring of evolving endodontic practices.
