A study revealed that sedentary behaviors such as TV-watching, driving, and non-occupational computer use significantly elevate the risk of kidney stones. Researchers examined 473,225 participants with no history of kidney stones and discovered a strong link between prolonged sitting and new-onset kidney stones. Those with 3.5+ hours of sedentary time daily were at an 18% higher risk. Notably, regular glucosamine users showed a 28% reduced risk, but only when combined with less sedentary time. These findings underscore the need for an active lifestyle and glucosamine supplements in kidney stone prevention.
