Green spaces surrounding schools significantly reduce myopia risk, especially in children aged 7-12. A study involving over 1.7 million participants in Shanghai found a strong association between green space (NDVI) and lower odds of myopia (OR: 0.299). Outdoor time partially mediates this relationship (2.7% effect), with stronger benefits for boys. These findings support creating more green spaces in schools to combat myopia.
