High TyG Index Predicts MINS in Elderly Non-Cardiac Surgery Patients

This study evaluated the link between the triglyceride-glucose index (TyG) and myocardial injury after non-cardiac surgery (MINS) in patients aged ≥65. In 7789 patients, 481 (6.2%) developed MINS. A TyG cut-off of 8.57 predicted higher MINS risk (7.6% vs. 4.9%). TyG ≥ 8.57 was associated with MINS (OR: 1.58, 95% CI: 1.32-1.91). Multivariate models confirmed this association (ORs: 1.46, 1.46, and 1.43). The association remained after PSM.
