This study monitored patients receiving anthracycline chemotherapy for breast cancer and non-Hodgkin lymphoma for cardiotoxicity using cardiac troponin testing and cardiac MRI. Those at high risk of cardiotoxicity received a combination of candesartan and carvedilol therapy, but it showed no cardioprotective effect. Low-risk patients also experienced declines in left ventricular ejection fraction, questioning the utility of routine cardiac troponin monitoring.
