This retrospective study analyzed 440 heart failure patients in Colombia to compare the evolution of functional class and quality of life (QoL) over time based on the presence of atrial fibrillation (AF). Patients without AF showed more significant improvements in functional class. AF, particularly in patients with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF), was linked to worse functional outcomes and a 4% worsening in physical QoL. Early detection and management of AF in HF care are essential.
