This study investigates the impact of homologous recombination repair (HRR) and BRCA1/2 gene alterations on overall survival (OS) in metastatic prostate cancer. Analysis of 196 patients revealed significant differences in OS between HRR/BRCA-positive and negative patients, especially in hormone-sensitive and castration-resistant stages. Patients with BRCA1/2 mutations showed improved survival with PARP inhibitor therapy, highlighting the importance of genetic screening and targeted treatment in improving patient outcomes.
