Mixed cryoglobulinemia (MC) in chronic hepatitis C patients with sustained virologic response (SVR) is associated with a longer time to hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) development. In a 12-year study of 891 SVR patients, 29.7% had baseline MC, and 19.7% developed cancer. Among cancer cases, HCC occurred in 50.7%, with factors like male sex, age, and cirrhosis linked to risk. MC downregulated Bregs, delaying HCC onset by almost 2 years.
