Amid the unique challenges posed by the 2022 COVID-19 wave, researchers in China are launching a multicentral study to assess the perioperative prognosis of surgical patients. This prospective study will investigate the link between SARS-CoV-2 infection and postoperative complications among patients receiving general or regional anesthesia from January 16 to December 31, 2023, compared with 2019 data. Data from health and anesthesia systems and an online COVID-19 survey will be collected. Results will aid in understanding the virus's impact and guide future responses.

Among patients with CKD, DCB treatment resulted in a 2-year target lesion failure rate of 23.6%, compared with 30.0% with balloon angioplasty. The treatment effect was consistent across patients with and without CKD, suggesting that baseline renal function did not significantly influence DCB outcomes over 2 years.
