A recent study explored the link between obesity and chronic migraine in premenopausal women with episodic migraine. Analyzing data from 168 participants, researchers found a significant association between body fat percentage and chronic migraine, even after adjusting for body mass index (BMI) and oral contraceptive use. They also observed a weak but significant correlation between body fat percentage and migraine frequency. The study suggests that high body fat may increase the risk of developing chronic migraine, highlighting the potential role of weight control measures in preventing migraine worsening.
