The study compared the diagnostic performance of real-time endoscopy techniques in detecting Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection. Using conventional white light imaging (WLI) and image-enhanced endoscopic (IEE) methods (LCI, M-BLI, M-NBI), the study found that M-BLI significantly improved sensitivity in diagnosing H. pylori compared to WLI. Enlarged gastric folds and antral nodularity were reliable predictors for H. pylori infection, while fundic gland polyps and red streak were indicative of H. pylori-negative mucosa. The findings suggest the potential clinical utility of specific endoscopic features and highlight the improved sensitivity of M-BLI in real-time diagnosis.
