A study analyzing 733,052 pregnancies in 2019 reveals 1.48% experienced severe maternal morbidity and 10.4% had neonatal adverse outcomes. Factors affecting outcomes include Obstetric Comorbidity Index, primiparity, cesarean or instrumental delivery, and preterm births. Longer travel times (over 30 mins) correlate with higher neonatal complications. Regionalization of perinatal care in France has shown positive results, but differences persist based on unit volume.
