A study assessed periodontal health in 93 men (50 HIV+, 43 HIV-) aged 35–70 years, focusing on alveolar bone height, cytokines in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF), and periodontal disease activity. Results showed no significant differences in bleeding on probing or clinical attachment loss; however, men with HIV exhibited significantly greater alveolar crestal height (3.41±1.35 mm) compared to men without HIV (2.64±1.01 mm, p = 0.004), indicating increased alveolar bone loss. Elevated IL-6 levels may mediate this relationship, highlighting the need for enhanced oral health management for people living with HIV (PLWH).

Most recommendations remain conditional because evidence certainty is low or very low in several clinical areas.

A nationwide Colombian study identified 4,608 healthcare encounters related to childhood interstitial and diffuse lung disease (chILD) from 2016–2024. Average annual prevalence was 3.32 per 100,000 children, highest among infants and with a secondary rise during adolescence. Reported cases increased annually (IRR 1.022), while declining markedly during the COVID-19 pandemic.
