India to Recognize Foreign Toxicity Data for Drug Approval.

India to Recognize Foreign Toxicity Data for Drug Approval.

India's drug regulatory authority, the Drugs Controller General (India) (DCGI), will now accept preclinical toxicity data approved by other countries' regulatory bodies for new drugs, subsequent new drugs (SNDs), and fixed-dose combinations (FDCs). This move excludes biological and investigational new drugs. The decision aims to expedite the drug approval process, reduce resource wastage, and avoid duplicate testing in India.
