Insulin Glargine 300 U/mL Shows Effective Glycaemic Control in Chinese T2D Patients

A study assessed the efficacy and safety of insulin glargine 300 U/mL (Gla-300) in individuals with suboptimally controlled type 2 diabetes (T2D). Among 568 participants, including those insulin-naïve and insulin-experienced, Gla-300 significantly reduced HbA1c by an average of 0.91% from baseline at 24 weeks (P < 0.0001). The reduction was more pronounced in insulin-naïve patients (−1.38%) compared to insulin-experienced patients (−0.68%). Hypoglycaemia incidence was 39.7% overall and 13.3% nocturnally, with severe hypoglycemia occurring in only 0.5% of cases. Gla-300 demonstrated effective glycaemic control with a relatively low risk of hypoglycemia in this population.
