Intensive Care Admissions and Outcome of Cardiac Arrests; A National Cohort Study From the United States

A study examined 4.6 million ICU encounters from 2016 to 2019. Of 426,729 patients who received CPR, 68.3% died, with the highest mortality (73.34%) seen among those with 2-day stays. Overall ICU admissions' mortality also rose from 22.1% (2016) to 24.1% (2019). Researchers advocate for enhanced research and interventions to address the rising CPR-related deaths and ICU admission mortality rates.
