This systematic review assessed the reporting of observed intracluster correlation coefficients (ICCs) in osteoarthritis (OA) cluster randomized clinical trials (RCTs). Among 20 included trials, only 25% reported observed ICCs for at least one outcome variable. The reported ICC values varied for different outcomes, and one-quarter of the trials had an ICC larger than the one used for sample size calculation, indicating potential underpowering. The study highlights a reporting gap in adherence to CONSORT guidelines for cluster RCTs in OA.
