
A retrospective study evaluated the efficacy of intravitreal perfluoropropane (C3F8) injection for unclosed idiopathic macular holes (IMHs) after primary vitrectomy. Among patients with IMHs and the ‘cuff’ sign on OCT, C3F8 injection achieved a 100% closure rate. Mean BCVA improved from 0.68 ± 0.17 logMAR (20/100) to 0.48 ± 0.19 logMAR (20/63) (P = 0.01).
