The study investigated the safety and tolerability of panitumumab, a human monoclonal antibody against the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), as a potential treatment for pathological myopia. The study involved 11 patients with myopic macular degeneration, who received intravitreal injections of panitumumab at different doses and intervals. Best-corrected visual acuity and intraocular pressure remained stable, and axial length did not change significantly during the mean follow-up of 6.7 months.
