IPX203, an extended-release formulation of carbidopa-levodopa, outperforms immediate-release carbidopa-levodopa in treating Parkinson's disease patients with motor fluctuations. Involving 630 patients, the study found that IPX203, administered three times daily, significantly enhanced daily good on-time by 1.55 hours compared to immediate-release carbidopa-levodopa, which required five daily doses. It was well-tolerated with minimal side effects. This breakthrough offers a more convenient treatment option for Parkinson's patients.
