Despite the development and application of vaccines against Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) around the world, the scientific community is still trying to find some therapies to avoid or ameliorate the fatal evolution of the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). However, the evidence needs to be stronger to conclude ivermectin's usefulness in the clinical evolution of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2. Therefore, we evaluate the efficacy and safety of ivermectin in treating Mexican patients with asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 in a three-day administration compared to a placebo. At standard doses, ivermectin is ineffective in preventing progression to a severe state or reducing symptoms in adults with asymptomatic and mild COVID-19.

A Swedish population-based genetic study using data from 1,510,974 individuals identified five interconnected clusters of psychiatric and substance use disorders: internalizing, externalizing, neurodevelopmental, eating, and psychotic disorders. An umbrella review of 69 systematic reviews covering 970 studies and 221 factors identified six factors with convincing evidence of association with psychotic disorders. High population attributable fractions were observed for childhood adversities (40.69%), Toxoplasma gondii IgG positivity (20.47%), frequent cannabis use (12.75%), and clinical high risk for psychosis (12.68%).

PEDIATRICS

A validation study found that Norwegian versions of the TOPSE and Teen TOPSE questionnaires demonstrated good-to-excellent psychometric properties in parents of children with pediatric acquired brain injury. GASTROENTEROLOGY
