Compared to azithromycin alone, the combination treatment showed a significantly higher clinical efficacy rate (RR = 1.18, 95% CI: 1.11–1.25, P < 0.01) and reduced time to defervescence (MD = -2.12 days), pulmonary rales resolution (MD = -2.90 days), cough disappearance (MD = -3.59 days), and shorter hospital stay (MD = -5.72 days). These results demonstrate that azithromycin combined with IVIG is an effective and safe option for managing RMPP in children, offering improved outcomes over monotherapy.
