JAK Inhibitors Raise Infection Risk in Atopic Dermatitis Treatment

In a real-world study of 1,793 patients with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis, JAK inhibitors showed significantly higher infection rates (58.4–65.5/100 PY) than biologics (13.6–22.0), particularly for herpes. Dupilumab had the lowest risk, while prior viral/fungal skin infections independently predicted future infections. These findings support personalized treatment choices based on individual infection histories and risk profiles.
