Among 664 employees with stress-related breath issues, 106 showed signs of stress-associated extraoral halitosis (EOH). High-stress patients had greater intestinal inflammation and higher breath levels of dimethyl sulfide, the main volatile compound linked to EOH. Tests confirmed a strong connection between job stress, gut inflammation, and worsened breath odor, suggesting stress management could be crucial for preventing gut-related halitosis.
