
A meta-analysis of 16 studies (n=11,015) identified key predictors for gastrostomy tube (G-tube) placement in head and neck cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy or chemoradiotherapy. Pretreatment dysphagia, low BMI, and tumor location influenced prophylactic G-tube use, while chemotherapy type and cytokine changes impacted reactive placement, aiding clinical decision-making.
