
A study examined the relationship of neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR), monocyte lymphocyte ratio (MLR), and neutrophil monocyte ratio (NMR) with treatment response in 100 pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) patients. Patients aged 18 and above, newly diagnosed with rifampicin-sensitive PTB, were included. Results showed that 81% of patients achieved a negative AFB sputum smear microscopy (SSM) after two months of intensive phase treatment (IPT), with significant decreases in NLR, MLR, and NMR. Conversely, 19% did not achieve treatment response, including 10.52% who were INH resistant. The study concluded that reductions in leukocyte ratios could serve as effective markers for monitoring treatment response in PTB patients.
