Lifetime BMI Trajectories Impact Adult Lung Function

A study of 4,194 individuals found that increasing BMI led to lung restriction, while low BMI was linked to obstructive patterns. High BMI was associated with reduced lung capacity, but no clear link to COPD. Maintaining an average BMI may help prevent lung function decline. These findings highlight the long-term respiratory effects of body weight fluctuations.
