A study explored the impact of liraglutide, a GLP-1 receptor agonist, on food liking and weight loss in individuals with obesity. The randomized study involved 73 participants following a weight loss program, half receiving liraglutide and the other a placebo. Results showed that while the liraglutide group experienced more weight loss than the placebo group, there were no significant changes in food liking or neural responses associated with liking. This suggests that altering food preferences might not drive liraglutide's weight loss effects.
