Long‐Term Clinical and Radiographic Outcomes of Hydrophilic Implants: A 10‐Year Study in a Specialist Private Practice

The study assessed 10-year clinical and radiographic outcomes of 63 hydrophilic implants with a low surface roughness flange placed in grafted (GBR) and non-grafted (no-GBR) sites in a Swiss private practice. Results showed an implant survival rate of 100%, with minor technical complications (6.3%). Mean marginal bone level (MBL) change from year one (T1) to year ten (T2) was -0.56 mm, with significantly higher MBL changes in GBR-distal sites compared to no-GBR (−0.75 mm vs. −0.12 mm; p = 0.045). The mean probing pocket depth (PPD) was 3.84 mm, higher in the GBR group (p = 0.016). Peri-implant mucositis was observed in 69.9% of implants, while 30.1% maintained peri-implant health. These findings indicate strong long-term implant performance in both bone types.
