A recent study has examined nerve function impairment (NFI) in leprosy patients over an extended period, a topic with limited prior research. This prospective observational study monitored patients throughout a year of treatment, integrating clinical evaluations, nerve conduction studies (NCS), and quality of life assessments. Findings indicated sensory loss in 68.2% of patients initially, with significant improvements post-treatment. Factors influencing outcomes included disease duration, bacillary load, age, and occurrence of reactions. Quality of life and activity limitations also showed marked improvement post-treatment.
