Longitudinal trend of urolithiasis incidence rates among world countries during past decades

This study examines the global trend of urolithiasis incidence rates in 204 countries from 1990 to 2019. The findings indicate a general increase in urolithiasis rates across most regions, with notable exceptions in Eastern Europe, Central Europe, and Southeast Asia, where rates decreased significantly. The Caribbean and Central Asia regions witnessed the highest increases in urolithiasis rates, with Africa also showing a significant upward trend. Cluster analysis identified Afghanistan, Andorra, and Comoros as countries with the most substantial decreasing trends, while Congo, Eswatini, Gabon, and Grenada experienced the most significant increases.
