An analysis of 2,338 patients evaluated the association between corneal hysteresis and glaucoma. Among the 154 diagnosed with glaucoma, including 115 with primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG) and 21 with exfoliation glaucoma, those in the lowest quartile of corneal hysteresis had a significantly higher risk of glaucoma compared to those in the highest quartile (OR: 1.80; 95% CI: 1.03-3.17). Specifically, individuals in the lowest quartile were more likely to have POAG (OR: 1.63; 95% CI: 1.02-2.61) and exfoliation glaucoma (OR: 6.49; 95% CI: 1.44-29.30). These findings suggest that corneal hysteresis measurement may be valuable in understanding glaucoma etiology.
